You’re Not a Product of Your Environment!
A caged animal becomes a product of his environment; mankind however builds his environments to suit his needs. If someone claims that you are a product of your environment, it means the environment you live in, has become your accepted norm, and now it influences you, rather than you influencing it.
How do some people who appear to have the odds stacked up against them go on to succeed in life and accomplish dreams that seem larger than them? I am talking about people who grew up in or surrounded by poverty, individuals that were raised in broken homes or dysfunctional families or those who were the unfortunate victims of abuse or witnessed violence or the people around them living the fast life of drugs and addictions.
While some people choose to limit themselves by accepting labels or stereotypes placed on them by society because of their backgrounds and perceived disadvantages others choose to defy the odds, break through and raise above those very perceived limitations and go on to do big things with their lives. They refuse to fall through the cracks and become a statistic by the choices they make.
I do not know about you but I am tired of people relinquishing responsibility to others for their problems. You owe it to yourself, to your family, to your friends, to your country, to your world to be the best person you can be. We all need to be proactive people for ourselves and for our society. We need to be better than we are and work together to make a paradigm shift in our world.
Are you prepared to take charge of your life? I hope so as no one else can do it for you. You need to do it in order to live a fulfilled life.
